TROUBLE TV is back. Episode 2 continues the audio/visual diary of the band GHOST COP as they take their album TROUBLE on the road. Hotels, highways, and nightclubs. The road stretches endlessly as memory becomes montage.
TROUBLE TV is inspired by Mark Pellington’s BUZZ series that aired exactly once on MTV in the 90s, never to be shown again. An experiment in non-linearity and cut-up method, BUZZ drew from and presented: avant-garde art, underground cinema, early cyberpunk, industrial culture, appropriation/sampling, and postmodern literature. The band was inspired by not only the work as text but as an experience: imagine stumbling onto this late night experimental video show that was never re-broadcast, relegated to the corners of memory. Did it even happen or was it a mash-up hallucination of personal media consumption, fever-dreamt over night?
Shot on many different formats and cameras, TROUBLE TV leans into the atemporality of our current, continually recorded daily life. It is long form content for the short attention spans of our time. It embraces the low-res/high-gain fluidity of the DV tape era, but also utilizes ultra sharp contemporary devices. It can be watched front-to-back; dipped in and out of; skipped around into; put on in the background. There is no one way or right way to experience TROUBLE TV.
The score is comprised of experiments, demos and forgotten versions of songs made during the writing and recording of this latest LP, as well as sketches that may be developed into future works.
It’s a supplemental addition to their new LP TROUBLE, available everywhere.

TROUBLE TV is an audio/visual diary of the band GHOST COP inspired by the ephemerality of the 90s channel-surfing TV experience and the revolutionary early days of handheld digital video. It’s a behind-the-scenes document of their lives while making the new album TROUBLE, paired with impressionistic overlapping imagery of micro-short horror cinema, dystopian montage, live footage and experimental abstraction. It is long form content for the short attention spans of our time.
It is inspired by Mark Pellington’s BUZZ series that aired exactly once on MTV, never to be shown again. LYRICS
Another you
That wasn’t you
The echo of a scream
Scratch a mask
To find yourself
Don’t act surprised when there’s nothing underneath
Shadow haze rolls into town
Angry with an unnamed sin
Your pretty skin
In the night
In the shadows
Just run
Through the dark
They will follow
Just run
Whispers in the night
Out of breath
And underwater
Say your prayers to the final morning sky
In the night
In the shadows
Just run
Through the dark
They will follow
Just run
Always gonna to end this way
Finding someone else's teeth in your mouth
In the night
In the shadows
Just run
Through the dark
They will follow
Just run
Always gonna end this way
Your pretty skin won’t be saved again
In the night
In the shadows
Just run
Through the dark
I will follow
Just run
Whispers in the night
